We are an informal network and virtual centre dedicated to supporting and promoting the value of experiential learning at the University of Edinburgh.

Our current focus is:
- to bring colleagues together to explore key themes, challenges and opportunities in experiential learning;
- to provide a platform for the dissemination of the results of relevant research and curriculum development projects; and
- to share practice and build capacity.
Looking further ahead our ambition is to develop a major programme of activities and projects that will result in a step change in the scale and significance of experiential learning across the University; that recognises and strengthens the links between research and teaching, and between the university, our students and wider communities.
We will achieve this by building an evidence base for the costs, benefits, challenges and pedagogic practices associated with experiential learning, and support a growing community of colleagues choosing to build this into the curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
Activities
Please use the menu to explore current examples of experiential learning in Edinburgh, current and past projects undertaken by members of the centre, links to resources in Edinburgh and beyond that we find useful, along with an introduction to current members of the centre and an invitation to join us. The centre occasionally hosts or promotes events in association with our work in Edinburgh – you can find more information about what is currently going on in the resources section.
